Thematic talk: Exploring Paleontology and Fossils

Fossils are the key to unlocking the prehistoric world! Throughout Earth's 4.6 billion years of history, countless types of ancient creatures have existed. Besides the well-known dinosaurs, there are many other equally fascinating ancient creatures. This talk will take you into the world of paleontology, where you will learn about what ancient creatures are, how they are classified, as well as the processes of fossil formation and preservation.
With the fossil specimens, fossil expert Mr. Lung Tak Chun will guide participants in exploring various representative ancient creatures, unveiling their mysteries.
Speaker: Mr. Lung Tak Chun
Lung Tak-Chun is a local expert in paleontology and fossil, with extensive experience in fossil restoration and creating restoration illustrations. Over the years, he has been dedicated to promoting public awareness and education in paleontology. In 2000, he founded the " Dinosaur @ Fossil Lab" and launched Hong Kong's first paleontology-focused website, "Fossils Board," to share knowledge.
He has served as a guest host on science programmes for RTHK and has provided educational activities on paleontology to schools for many years. He has also collaborated with museums and various organizations to organize fossil exhibitions, while actively engaging in fossil research, making significant contributions to paleontological studies in Hong Kong.

Nina Park will remain open. Outdoor exhibitions, tours and activities may be suspended.
Black Rainstorm Warning
If Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued before 2 hours before opening hour, Nina Park and Experience Centre will remain closed and re-open two hours after the signal is lowered.
If Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued within opening hour, the Nina Park and Experience Centre will remain open with limited operations.
In the above two situations, tours and activities may be postponed or cancelled after the lowering of Black Rainstorm Warning Signal.
Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above
If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is issued before 2 hours before opening hour, Nina Park and Experience Centre will remain closed until the signal is lowered or cancelled. Once the signal is lowered, Nina Park and Experience Centre will re-open two hours after. If the signal is lowered or cancelled less than four hours from the normal closing time, Nina Park and Experience Centre will remain closed for the rest of the day.
