This summer, in addition to the seven-day Hong Kong Book Fair, HKTDC is launching "Cultural July.Joyful Summer Reading". This event aims to promote a culture of reading and invites various organizations to join in creating a citywide cultural celebration.

As one of the partners for this event, Nina Park will host diverse cultural activities every Sunday in July. During this hot summer, you can enjoy the sunshine in the outdoor park and spend refreshing afternoons in Hexagon Cinema. Immerse yourself in the joy of reading and cultural enrichment, savoring each theme and letting your spirit soar in this cultural haven, finding inspiration and enlightenment.

Event 1: Wood Fossil Thematic Guided Tour 
Join us for an enlightening guided tour at Nina Park, where you will embark on a captivating journey through the fascinating world of wood fossils. This unique guided tour offers you the opportunity to discover the remarkable stories preserved in our extensive collection of wood fossils, each with millions of years of history. Led by our experienced docents, you will explore various plant species and discover the park’s innovative sustainability features. This guided tour is suitable for all ages, and we warmly invite you to join us for this unforgettable journey through time!

Event 2: Wood Fossil Story Parent-Child Crafting Workshop 

The workshop will guide children in exploring the fascinating story of wood fossils and learning about their formation and characteristics. Following this, participants will join a parent-child crafting session, where children can unleash their imagination and transform the story into tangible magical treasures to take home.

With guidance from professional instructors, children will incorporate elements from the story into their crafts, enhancing their artistic expression, refining their fine motor skills, and improving their self-expression. This experience allows every child to create a unique, story-inspired treasure to take home and share!

Event 3: Thematic talk: Exploring Paleontology and Fossils 

Fossils are the key to unlocking the prehistoric world! Throughout Earth's 4.6 billion years of history, countless types of ancient creatures have existed. Besides the well-known dinosaurs, there are many other equally fascinating ancient creatures. This talk will take you into the world of paleontology, where you will learn about what ancient creatures are, how they are classified, as well as the processes of fossil formation and preservation.

With the fossil specimens, fossil expert Mr. Lung Tak Chun will guide participants in exploring various representative ancient creatures, unveiling their mysteries.
