Nina Park’s Community Placemaking Programme blends elements of edutainment and cultural-tainment in collaboration with various organisations, transforming the park into a vibrant cultural space that encourages community interaction.
To deepen public understanding of ecological conservation and sustainable living, the park invites people from all backgrounds to explore its natural landscapes and fossil collections. On Saturday 8 March 2026, 13:00–18:00, the Tsuen Wan & Kwai Tsing Women’s Association, together with STEM Enlightenment Education Centre Limited, will present “International Women’s Day — Multicultural Festival” at Nina Park. The event features participation from 10 schools and several community organisations and aims to promote meaningful exchange between Chinese traditional rites of passage and minority cultures, reflecting Hong Kong’s multicultural spirit.
As an international hub in Asia, Hong Kong is home to people from many backgrounds, each bringing unique traditions that enrich city life. The Tsuen Wan & Kwai Tsing Women’s Association is dedicated to advancing women’s solidarity, safeguarding the rights of women and children, and fostering social inclusion. Under the theme “Cultural Diversity • Community Connection • Sharing Blessings,” we will transform Nina Park’s beautiful green spaces into a welcoming venue for families of all backgrounds to learn from and celebrate one another in a relaxed, joyful atmosphere. • Multicultural booths & game zone*: Explore six school-run cultural booths and five themed booths showcasing tea culture, the zhua zhou (first‑birthday ritual), dragon‑style kung fu, and diverse food and dress. Try the ring‑toss game to sample snacks from different communities — a taste of “global flavours on Hong Kong’s streets” — and compare traditional Chinese attire with South Asian saris and Southeast Asian textiles in a celebration of woven cultures.
• Craft workshops*: Make your own botanical temporary tattoos incorporating South Asian henna motifs, design traditional Miao silver headpieces, or create etiquette‑themed board games. These hands‑on sessions offer a genuine chance to explore the symbols of blessing and aesthetic traditions from different cultures.
• Amphitheatre - immersive performances: Teachers and students from schools and organizations will present a programme of dance, martial arts and recitations that blends Chinese classical traditions with minority cultural elements. Expect contrasts and collaborations such as Indian classical dance alongside Chinese folk dance, Filipino traditional dance paired with martial arts, and multilingual readings of blessings. The performances invite the audience on a journey through past and present, celebrating the interplay and harmony of diverse cultures.
*Note: Game tickets will be distributed at the redemption booth located at the entrance of the Wood Fossil Experience Centre in Nina Park. Tickets are available on-site only and will be issued on a first‑come, first‑served basis while stocks last.
